Oakville A Peaceful Place Between Two Rivers
More on the Edwards Cemetery Road Project
Last night we made around $3,000 on the ice cream social. From the fall of 2009 until August 2013 we have raised around $58,000 for the resurfacing of the road leading up to the cemetery. Our goal was $60,000.
The road is smooth asphalt with an aditional 4' added to the side and it is a pleasure to drive on. We have not received the bill from the contractor for the work done yet, but the estimate was for $55,000 and we are very hopeful that we will have enough money to do some landscaping that is needed in the parking area.
Half of the $58,000 raised came from our fundraisers and the other half came from Memorials & donations/contributions from all you who care... We had ice cream socials, apple pie sales, soup suppers, made flood books, cookbooks, and had garage sales.
We want to thank everyone who helped, and all who supported our fundraisers and our endeavor to have a safe road to the Cemetery.
We give God thanks and praise for helping us accomplish this BIG project.
Thank you,
The Oakville Community Club
